Thanks to all the county leaders for making our 1st Leadership Meeting such a great success.
The County Leaders from Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, New Hanover, Pender, Robeson, and Sampson met in Bladen to get to know each other and to plan a winning strategy for 2025 and beyond. The Meeting was led by our own Liz Guinan and Bill DeLano from Triangle Training.
Bill started off our meeting by having the everyone in the group find someone that they did not know and have a conversation about what started them on the path to be a democratic leader. It was so fun to meet new people and share our stories about our experiences. By the end of the day - we all felt like friends and people that we could count on to support each other in the 7th.
Liz and Becky Bond - our 1st Vice Chair, shared with the group data on county specific voter registration, voter turnout and trends that will help each county plan for upcoming elections. Liz and Becky explained that know where and how to reach voters is the key for increasing voter turnout.
Bill asked the group if they wanted to meet again and have additional meetings. Some said that this was so successful that we should meet every month - but it was decided that we would try to meet at least once a quarter to share experiences and how we were improving county actions based on what we learned at the meeting. Tom Simmons - Chair of the 7th - committed that help with technology (VoteBuilder) would be provided to all the counties that needed assistance.
