District 7 includes all precincts in Pender, Bladen, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Columbus counties, and select precincts in Sampson, Robeson, and Cumberland counties.
Small Counties; Big Change!
NC Congressional District 7 includes 8 counties. Five of the eight are considered "Tier 1" by the NC Department of Commerce.
Four of the counties have no current presence in the community. District 7 wants to change that.
Our "Help Small Counties" fundraising campaign will purchase:
Branded canopies for early voting sites. Studies show that poll greeting drives down-ballot voting.
Printed materials and postage for direct get-out-the-vote campaigns. The majority of voters in these counties live in rural areas, which are not conducive to canvassing operations.
The Tier 1 counties also have the lowest voter turnout in the state, and many voters have become disillusioned. We need to reach out to them and restore their hope for the future.
